ECDIS compliance chart

Electronic Charts are progressively becoming mandatory and by 2018 all large commercial ships will be using ENCs as their primary means of navigation. The growing acceptability of Digital Publications and digital update services by flag states and port states have increased demand for Digital Publications.

AVCS is the Admiralty brand for ENCs. The Admiralty Vector Chart Service (AVCS) brings together Electronic Navigational Charts (ENCs) from national Hydrographic offices around the world and new ENC coverage produced by UKHO in co-operation with Foreign Governments to provide comprehensive, official, worldwide coverage.

AVCS Update DVDAVCS charts are available for purchase through Novaco and are supported by electronic delivery of updates and new editions either directly to ships via the Novaco satellite broadcast or via custom email updates.

Primar ENCs

Primar LogoThe NovacoENC service is compatible with ENCs distributed by Primar. PRIMAR offers a comprehensive ENC database that meets IMO SOLAS chart and carriage requirements when kept up to date and used on type-approved ECDIS.

The Primar database includes ENCs from its member states, a number of hydrographic offices (HOs) which are not members of the RENC as well as ENCs from IC-ENC.  Primar ENCs provide full coverage of Europe, cross-Atlantic and short-sea shipping areas as well as extensive coverage in Asia.

Digital Publications

digital publicationsADP is a bundle of all Admiralty Digital products supplied on a single CD. They include the equivalent of Volume 6 of the Radio Signals, All volumes of List of Lights and All volumes of the Admiralty Tide Tables.

Compared to the paper version, the Admiralty Digital List of Lights is much easier to use and access information on the 70,000, or so, lights around the world. Similarly, Volume 6 of the Admiralty Radio Signals provides maritime radio communications information for pilot services, vessel traffic services and port operations round the world.
