 The Novaco Weather Service gives you all the tools to receive and review weather information on your computer out at sea. Once that information is received on your computer, the GRIB Explorer software is used to display forecasts in interactive formats to help you plan your voyage.
Weather information is sourced from US Government sources. It is broadcast repeatedly during the day and delivered to subscribers in GRIB format. GRIB, short for “GRIdded Binary” data, is a unique form of weather and ocean data widely used by ocean racers, shipping companies, and routing specialists running sophisticated software packages. Subscribers have the option to purchase subscriptions for 5 or 7 days forecast. Forecasts are available at spatial resolution of 0.25° x 0.25° or 1° x 1°. |
